The Film entitled "JINA"is a genuine attempt to view the life of a seer and an individual who overcame the bondedness of senses (jina). There is a powerful undercurrent of sacrifices ,expiation and redemption in the painful yet devoted life of the jain priest,Nabhiraja Indra. There is an inevitable attempt to capture the light of essence and to radiate it to others by the blind priest .The dark scenes at the begining of the film bring home the blinded eye and voice of his spirit as he addresses us.visuals of rain are elaborately used to signify the purging moments of worship and the mystic valorisations of sacrifice .the only voice througout the whole project is the priest's own voice and affirms his mission .The film is an earnest attempt to overcome the conventional hindrances of capital ,technology and canon by utilising the freedom and individuality of contemporary technology and visual culture.
