  1. Karkala is a town of pivotal historical and cultural importance. It is situated in the Udupi
district of Karnataka. It has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is an
important pilgrimage center for Jains. The famous monolithic 42-foot (13 m) statue of
Gomateshwara (Lord Bahubali ), Chaturmukha Thirthankara Basadi, Hiriyangaddi Neminatha
Basadi , Anekere Padmavathi Basadi and Manasthambha (sacred pillar of the Jains) are the
prominent religious attractions of the town.

Chaturmukha Basadi stands majestically on top
of a hill and is a grand sight with its four sided tiled roof and immense doors and statues
    of Jain religious figures.
